Overview
Our
single camera drama is called “stepping into the light”. Our target audience is
teenagers’ especially teenage girls as we feel they will be able to relate to
the drama, and this will be the main factor that will attract our audience.
This drama may also attract parents as it will broaden their understanding of
how their decisions can affect their children’s lives.
There
are 3 main subjects to our single camera production.
1.
Decision making- in our story both the main character and the
sub character are put in to situations where they have to make decisions that
have a major affect on not only their lives but on the lives of the people they
love.
2.
Forced marriage- in our drama our main character is being
forced in to marriage at a very young age without her consent
3.
Life is short- the sudden death of our main character at the end leave the
message to our audience saying ‘life is short so treasure every moment’.
Tomorrow may never come
Our
Drama uses todrov’s theory to set the format of the story therefore it has:
1.
Equilibrium
Our story starts with a girl called Aisha who is a who is an only
child from a strict but loving family. She is a normal teenage girl however she
has a secret she hides from her parents. She is suffering from cyber bullying
however is too scared to share her problem with her parents.
2.
Disruption of Equilibrium
One unfortunate day her parents receive a call which leaves them a
little upset. They then receive a letter through the post containing pictures
of Aisha. Aisha’s father is furious when he sees the pictures. He decided the
only right thing to do in such a situation is to get Aisha married, so she can
start a fresh new life elsewhere.
3.
Recognition Of The Disruption
It comes to Aisha’s attention that her parents are upset .she finds
out that her parents have heard about her being cyber bullied. She feels
extremely embarrassed, however she knows what her parents must be planning and
she decides that she need to talk to them and persuade them otherwise.
4.
Attempt To Repair The Damage
Aisha sits down with her parents and tries to explain how she
wishes to study further and go to university. She tries to explain how she
wants to build her career and she is not ready for marriage. Her father tells her she has no say. He will
decide when she is to marry. This leads
to a big argument between her and her parents.
5.
New Equilibrium
Aisha gets upset and runs out of the door. Her parents run out to
the door after her. Just as she is about to run across the road she is hit by a
car. This leads to Aisha’s death.
The
main points that the audience will leave thinking about is how it is not right
to force your decisions on to others. Instead we should sit down and discuss
the best method to resolving such problems. And the second is how life is short
and nothing in life should be taken for granted not even life itself.
